Mascott Corporation began its history on April 13, 1989 when Markers Harborside Grille opened in the Harborside Financial Center, Jersey City, New Jersey. Markers offers a broad menu of casual American cuisine and has established itself as one of the leading corporate and social caterers in the area. Mascott also operates Markers Express located adjacent to Markers Harborside Grille. Markers Express is a highly stylized takeout and delivery restaurant featuring a Seattle's Best Coffee kiosk, breakfast baked goods and specialty items, signature sandwiches, salads, pizza, burgers and hot entrees.
Mascott also became a franchisee of
Cinnabon World Famous Cinnamon Rolls
in 1989. Mascott currently operates nine Cinnabon bakeries in
regional shopping malls of northern and central New Jersey, and Staten
Island, New York. Mascott currently has the exclusive
development rights for the State of New Jersey.
Expanding upon its quick service roots, in October of 1999 Mascott opened a
Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurant in the Willowbrook Mall, Wayne, New Jersey. Popeyes is the second largest fried chicken chain in the world. With the tremendous success of the first operation, Mascott has opened 3 additional Popeyes restaurants, North Brunswick in October 2001, Linden in February 2002 and Scotch Plains in December 2002. During 2003, Mascott will open at least 3 new Popeyes. Mascott has an eight-year exclusive development agreement for the New Jersey counties of Union, Passaic, Morris, Middlesex and Monmouth. The agreement calls for the development of an additional twenty-five Popeyes during the eight-year period.
During 2000, Mascott made the decision to expand into the upscale coffee market as a franchisee of
Seattle's Best Coffee. Seattle's Best is served in Cinnabon bakeries and was introduced in Markers Express during 2000. Mascott's first Seattle's Best Café was opened in August 2001 in the Livingston Mall, Livingston, New Jersey.
